Since my early teens I have had a interest in design, but it was not until high school when textiles entered my life. I learnt to sew by hand and machine, pattern making and understanding fabrics, this led to studying textiles and, art and design at college then textiles/surface design at university.
Sadly my dream of designing for a company was fruition, I developed a long term health condition, which effects my day to day goals, but it has not effected my determination to become a designer. My ambition is to be a freelance designer and sell my designs and products to companies in Europe, America and the United Kingdom.
At this important stage of my education, which I hope will lead to a lot of success in my designing career, I wanted to write about my journey and the best way of doing this is a blog. This blog will show the progression from research to pattern, and a long the way I will show the various techniques, mostly printing.
I hope this is not too much of a read, I wanted to give you a bit of background about myself. On a high note, i love sewing, printing and drawing, and as long as I have fire in my belly I will keep designing.
